Norton 360 Causes Stutters and Audio Skips

If you are using Norton 360 for your security software, be aware that there are known cases of micro-stutters and audio skips when using Active Sky. This is an apparent incompatibility related to Active Sky’s radar data communications and the aggressive scanning nature of Norton 360 components (which cannot be disabled, even when configured to be disabled!). We are actively working on a long-term solution to work around this issue with Norton 360. The actual issue appears to only affect a small percentage of users, suggesting that there are other factors involved, such as computer specs, other software installed, specific configuration, etc.
If you are using Active Sky and Norton 360, and experiencing this issue, at this time we recommend looking into alternative Security Software. There are many Anti-Virus/Security Software solutions available and links have been provided below. We highly recommend using Windows Firewall (included with all recent versions of Windows) for your firewall/IP security instead of other “all in one” IP/firewall solutions which may consume large amounts of system resources and impose significant network overhead (potentially leading to stutters and skips).
